Since we first started Laptop.com.au Pty Ltd in 1999 we have been astounded by the number of companies today claiming to offer the same "Laptop Specialists" service as us. One of the reasons we refer to ourselves as "Laptop Specialists" is that we sell only laptops and know just about everything there was to know about the product.

What sets us aside from the rest of the new "Laptop Specialists" is our staff. Each and every one of the staff that has been with us since the inception of Laptop.com.au have a degree or qualification in IT. We haven't just suddenly developed a passion like others who "used to be a barman and now love IT".

It will surprise people to know but we have sold in excess of 25,000 laptops (yes - you've read correctly) since inception in 1999, so yes we really do know our business!

We offer a warranty on all our product, unless otherwise stated. Even our second-hand laptops come with a minimum 3 Month Warranty! You can extend your warranty any time within the warranty period for $154 per year. Warranty is very important - According to "Gartner Group" (Masters and Johnson of the IT world) even with brand new laptops, there is a 1/4 chance of having a yearly problem.

Unlike many of our competitors, we have the means to backup our warranty. Laptop parts are very expensive and often hard to get a hold of. A display or motherboard can set you back $3,000. Due to the quantity we ship Australia-wide, we have all the parts we could possibly need. We also have competent technicians working here who have specialist knowledge of laptops (laptops are quite different to desktop computers).

The majority of our second-hand stock is ex-corporate end-of-lease. The laptops have just been used by adults in offices (not schools, etc) and have been very well looked after.

We offer quality brands - Sony, Fujitsu, Toshiba, IBM, Dell, HP/Compaq. Unlike with desktop systems, with laptops the brand does make a considerable difference - particularly with reliability. We recommended Sony, Fujitsu, Toshiba, IBM, Dell, and HP/Compaq. From experience, we do not recommend buying other brands.

Buying a re-marketed product from Laptop.com.au means that you have the same warranty advantages as buying a new product, only at a much more reasonable price. Furthermore, unlike buying through private sellers, you don't have the fear of buying stolen product or defective goods that cannot be repaired.

Tell tale signs of stolen laptops:
Serial numbers removed, password protected, missing power supply. All laptops carry a manufacturers serial number. Like motor cars they are virtually worthless if this number is removed. No dealer will support this product.
